House on the rock
Matthew 7:20-29
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
From the scripture above, a house here can be anything built by man, it can be your personal life, marriage, business, career, children, and a lot more.
Another thing I will also want to establish is the fact that, as stated in this portion of the scripture, no matter how you build whatever you build, challenges against it are common, the possibility of standing is based on the foundation/root of the building.
Your house will only be able to withstand anything that comes against it if the following are in place;
Understanding
To understand things simply means to comprehend/perceive the intended meaning of a word/thing.
When you hear the word of God, the value you place on and your action towards it is based on the level of your understanding of that word.
How fruitful a word of God will be in your life is determined by the level of your understanding of that word.
Matthew 13:23 KJV
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
As a believer in Christ of God when you build anything without a balanced knowledge and understanding of the word of God in that area, you are not building on a solid foundation.
When you hear and understand the word of God, you are counted as a wise builder, building on a sound and solid foundation.
Your Knowledge of God
Your knowledge about the communicator of a word will boost the integrity of that word in your heart.
Daniel 11:32b but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
“shall be strong, and do exploits” here is a parallel to “ I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock”
So when you know your God, you shall be strong against rain, flood, wind, and all kinds of challenges of life.
What does it mean to know God?
It means that you know the way, pattern, character, and nature of God.
Way of God: The way of God means the path or method by which;
The will of God is achieved.
People can approach God.
The pattern of God: model or blueprint to establish the purposes of God, e.g. Tithing.
The character of God: qualities that define God's nature, e.g. God is Love, Holy, True, Just...
Nature of God: These are the inherent attributes of God, Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and more.
The list is not exhausted, I just limit it to this major point, stay committed to it, and expect the miracle of God in your life.
